Ordering leather vests for a club, crew or team

Start with the vest

A club vest is a back panel with a garment around it. Choose the cut for how it will be worn: over a T-shirt in summer, over a hoodie in winter, or over a jacket. In the builder two cuts are available for groups, both in full-grain cowhide, which holds its shape and takes embroidery without puckering.

• SOA: the club cut. Short stand collar, concealed snap-and-zip front, two chest flap pockets, a broad unbroken back. The stocked version is SOA Classic; SOA Collarless swaps the collar for a clean neckline and adds side laces for members between sizes.
• Classic: the traditional V-neck with a four-snap front and welt pockets, as in Rustic Rebel and Heritage Hero. Lighter on the shoulders, and the open neck shows what is underneath.

Jackets work for groups too: Phantom for a full back plaque, Thunder Ride when you want a clean front with the crest doing the talking. The vest guide covers the cuts in detail.

One spec for everyone

A group order is one specification: the same style, leather, colour, hardware and lining for every member, with sizes the only variable. Black or dark brown cowhide are the usual choices; gunmetal hardware disappears, silver and brass show. The lining is where a group can have fun, since nobody outside sees it: red satin inside black leather is a club tradition for a reason. Names on the left chest are optional and cost the same per placement as the crest.

The crest

Thread cannot do what ink does, and leather needs a looser stitch than cloth. Send a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF) or a PNG at least 2,000 pixels wide on a transparent background. Solid shapes, lines at least 1 mm wide, lettering at least 6 mm tall, up to eight thread colours. Gradients, photographs and hairline strokes do not survive digitising. Our digitiser redraws your artwork as stitches and sends a preview per placement, at size, on your leather colour, within five working days; changes are free and nothing is sewn until you approve. The artwork guidelines have the full list. The back plaque is the big one, at up to 25 cm; the chest takes a small version of the crest or a name.

One rule we hold to: we stitch only marks you own or are licensed to use, and nothing hateful or unlawful.

A size for every member

You do not collect sizes. We send you a link; each member opens it and enters a standard size or their own measurements, and custom measurements are included in the group price. A size kit can be sent on request for members who want to try before deciding. Members between sizes can take the SOA Collarless with side laces, which adjusts a few centimetres either way, or give measurements and get a vest cut to them. The measuring guide shows how.

What it costs

From ten pieces the wholesale terms apply: 20% off the retail price of the style, embroidery per placement on top, custom measurements included.

Timeline

1. You send the enquiry: group name, how many pieces, the style, the crest, the date you need them. We reply within two working days with a quote and the sizing link.
2. The stitch preview arrives within five working days of receiving the artwork.
3. Members enter their sizes. You approve the spec sheet and the preview and pay.
4. Production starts the day you approve. The pieces are at your door three to four weeks later, duty paid, either one parcel per member or all to one address.

Count back from your date: a group order needs five to six weeks from first email to delivery if the sizes come in quickly. Members who join later get a vest from the same stitch file, so the crest matches the first batch.

Questions

Can we mix jackets and vests? One style per group order keeps the price. Two styles are two orders, each with its own minimum.

Can each member choose a different colour? No; one leather and colour for the group is what makes it a group order. Lining and hardware are also fixed for the group.

Do you ship outside the EU? Yes, duty paid where we deliver; see delivery. Custom pieces are made to order and cannot be returned, which is why the sizing step matters.
